Next, install the sink flange by sliding the rubber gasket into the sink flange, and then create a ring with the plumber’s putty and set it around the sink flange.

Now, press the sink flange into the sink opening. Ensure you center the sink flange properly. Next, put a rag on the sink opening and place a weight on the rag to make a proper seal.

Afterward, go underneath the sink where you install the garbage disposal.

Slip the fiber gasket onto the exposed sink flange, screw the plastic support ring, and hand-tighten it until the sink flange won’t move.

Place the mounting ring over the sink flange and hold it with your hand while installing the cushion mount.

Note: When you install the cushion mount correctly, the lip of the sink flange fits into the groove on the inside of the cushion mount. You can now pull the mounting ring downward over the cushion mount and rotate the mounting ring freely. The bottom bead of the cushion mount acts as a gasket between the bottom of the sink flange and the top of the disposer. 

Connect the Discharge Elbow To Disposal

Slide the rubber gasket and the flange into the discharge elbow. Then, align the discharge elbow with the discharge tube of your disposal and secure the connection by tightening the nuts. 

Remove The Plug from inside the Dishwasher Inlet

Only perform this step if you have a dishwasher to connect to the Waste King 2600 Garbage disposal. 

Insert a wooden dowel into the dishwasher inlet and hammer it down to remove the plug. Then, pull out the plug using long-handled tongs.

Attach the Disposal To the Mounting Assembly

Lift your garbage disposal and line up the disposal under the mounting assembly. Then, guide the hopper projections into mount ring slots. Rotate the mounting ring about 1/4″ counter-clockwise to support the disposal temporarily. 

Turn the mounting ring and disposer until the disposal elbow lines up with the trap. Keep rotating the mounting ring until it locks up tight. Tap the mounting ring ears with a hammer until the lock position is achieved. 

Hopper projections must be to the extreme left of the mounting slots. 

Now, reattach the discharge elbow to the drain line. Use an adjustable wrench to secure the drain line connected to the disposal discharge tube.
